Pigs react considerably more sensitive to unpleasant tastes than people. Especially when it comes to changing the feed, our properly balanced flavouring and sweetener concepts guarantee the continuance of feed intake and thus ensure the animal yield.

Of particular importance for successful use are Na-saccharin and NHDC since the sweetness profiles of these two components complement each other very well. Choosing our intelligent combination of these two substances is the way to optimum success. Even in places where feeding Na-saccharin and NHDC is not permitted, we provide sweetening solutions for improving feed acceptance. In this regard, Phytobiotics has developed the products Appitello Naturale und PhytoSweet.

Positive for sows and litters.

The appetite-stimulating effect of  SANGROVIT® helps sows to cover their nutritional requirements during lactation and therefore prevents supply deficits.
The result is that less body fat has to be mobilised. When piglets are weaned, sows that have been fed with SANGROVIT® are less ‘drained dry’. This is a benefit for the health and fertility of sows. Trial results prove that with SANGROVIT®, the litter weight is increased by up to 13.5%.

Appitello naturale is a vegetable-based, appetite-stimulating feed additive with a pleasant taste and a 300-times higher intensity sweetener than sugar (sensory test).
It is perfectly suited for sweetening young animal feeds, e.g. for pre-starters, milk substitutes, medicinal feed as well as for increasing feed intake during heat stress.

The weaners' winner:

The animals were offered two piglet breeding feeds, one sweetened with PiggySweet, the other with a rival product. With free feed intake and a weekly change of feed in the machines, results showed that from a feed intake of the entire group of 2680 kg, some 380 kg more of feed containing PiggySweet was ingested by the end of the trial period.

Almost 15% gain thanks to our intelligent approach.

The results of another piglet breeding trial at a state research centre demonstrate the PiggySweet effect. During the suckling period (from Day 7 onwards), the piglets received supplementary feed which was prepared either with PiggySweet, with a rival product or without any sweetener at all. The animals fed with PiggySweet started to ingest solid feed earlier and grew continuously faster. By the end of breeding, this led to an additional weight of 1 kg/piglet.
